Immingham Oasis Academy is one of the many Oasis Academies being built across the UK. We completed the suspended ceilings on this project, most of which were high specification Ecophon grid and tiles including Gedina A and Focus D along with some Master A.
Of particular interest on this project are areas where we installed specialist acoustic ceilings to achieve both sound absorption and reverberation.
They were installed to exacting dimensions at various angles, the whole design having been thoroughly investigated down to the last hole which was machined into birch faced plywood. The overall appearance is quite striking.
An innovative aspect of works on this project was the design and installation of two elliptical feature ceilings. To add to the complexity these were to be built under a sloping glass soffit and were required to be conical as can be seen from the photographs. They were completed with a very high standard of workmanship; the curve sections are free of any flat spots or bumps and the skimming of the finished work is exceptional.
