4 floors of a hospital building
PROJECT: Sheffield Northern General
MAIN CONTRACTOR: Kajima
PROJECT VALUE: £425,000
This was a large project consisting of four floors of hospital wards with a variety of room layouts.
A number of the ceilings abutted radiant heating panels and allowances had to be made when fitting ceiling trims for maintaining co-efficient linear expansion between the materials to prevent edges from buckling.
Many of the ceilings were constructed with plasterboard bands to the perimeter and full tile sections of layin grid.
A striking feature of the project was the entrance which opens up to a full height atrium.
